Verdo M. Harrell of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away October 7, 2008. Mr. Harrell was born June 26, 1951 at Misawa Air Base in  Aomori, Japan. He was the son of Tomoko Yoshida Harrell and the late Peter W. Harrell.  He graduated from Columbus High School in 1969 and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1976. He was an Electrical Engineer with the Georgia Power Company for 29 years and was an active  member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he served regularly and volunteered his time.


Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Marjorie M. Harrell. He is survived by his mother,  Tomoko Y. Harrell of Columbus; sons, Randall A. Harrell and wife, Laura of Midland, GA, Peter Michael Harrell, a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Avery and Owen Harrell, and Jonathan M. Harrell; siblings, Jerome Harrell, Victor Harrell, Robert Harrell, Mary Harrell  Kelley, all of Columbus, GA; nieces, nephews and many friends.


Funeral service held October 14 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, GA. Interment at Midway Memorial Gardens in  Talladega, Alabama. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
