William "Bubba" Land

This message was sent by Brad Hendricks:

William Lokey "Bubba" Land did not graduate.  After being sent to military school, he dropped out of high school, obtained his GED, and went to college in Gainesville, Georgia. He lived his entire life on 50 acres of woods near Whitesburg, Georgia. Bubba was a successful real estate appraiser and entepreneur. His preference was to be called "Will," but except for his second wife, everyone continued to call him "Bubba" until his death in 2008. It would be difficult to find someone for whom the stereotype of that nickname was less applicable. "Bubba" Land was a Renaissance man, amazingly well read, with a keen, unrelenting intellectual curiousity.
